This Year in Sports


The 2017-2018 school year in sports proved to be a year of upsets, championships, and historic records.

Fall 2017:







Boys soccer had an extraordinary season, overall ending with a 16-3 season and 6th in the state. They beat Fruita Monument in the first round of playoffs, then kicked out Regis in the second round, and came out on top of Fairview in the quarterfinals, but lost to East in the Semis. Grandview’s Football team went10-3 this past season, with a historic win against the first seed Valor Christian. This win took Valor out of the playoffs for the first time in 9 years. The wolves finished 5th in the state. (Photos by Danielle Armitage)



Winter 2017-2018:







The Girl’s Basketball team adds another astounding season, and another State Championship to the books. The girls finished 25-3 overall and beat the Regis Jesuit Raiders 67-61 to take home a back to back title. (Photos by Danielle Armitage)









Boys Basketball ended with a similar record and the first State Championship ever for Grandview  Boys Basketball. They finished strong with a 24-4 record and after a series of upsets throughout the tournament, came out on top over George Washington 57-52. (photos by Danielle Armitage)

Spring 2018:

Girls Soccer is currently ranked first in the state, and has an overall record of 15-0-3. They have blown competition out of the water in the playoffs, winning by 5 or more goals. Their next game is this Saturday, May 19th, 11 am at Echo park against Mountain Vista. (photo by Danielle Armitage)




Girls Lacrosse has had the best season that the program has ever seen. Ending 12-5 overall and ranked 9th in the State, they claimed their first ever playoff win against Dakota Ridge in the second round (they had a bye the first).
