The ice glittered under the stadium lights as the world held its breath, watching dreams unfold at the 2026 Figure Skating Olympics. With Team USA’s stunning performance, and Alysa Liu’s breathtaking routines, the competition set the stage for a new era in the sport. The expectation climaxed in Alysa Liu’s incredible gold medal performance, a moment that will forever be stamped in history.

Alysa Liu won the gold medal with a stunning combination of speed, precision, and creativity, impressing the judges with every element of her performance. Her flawless execution set her apart, securing her place at the top of the podium.

“All the things- music and the skaters’ dedication- were so moving,” sophomore Sufana Twati said.

Despite the awe-inspiring performances, not everything on the ice was perfect. The rink had become slushy and wet, making every jump and spin even more challenging for the skaters. Yet, athletes like Alysa seemed to glide naturally, turning a difficult surface into a stage for brilliance.

“I was like Oh My Gosh when I saw the ice was too soft, slushy, and wet,” Sufana said.

The opening chords of the music hit and Alysa’s eyes locked onto the ice. The first moments of her routine were a test of endurance, filled with spins and footwork. Then came the moment of truth, the triple axel.

The triple axel, known as one of the most difficult jumps in figure skating, requires three and a half rotations in the air before landing perfectly on one foot. As Alysa launched into it, the audience held its breath, knowing that this move could define her entire performance.

“I was honestly amazed when Alysa Liu actually landed it. It felt like one of those breathtaking moments where you realize you’re watching something truly special happen right in front of you,” Sufana said.

For Alysa, however, the performance was about more than just technical skill. Music played a key role in helping her connect every movement on the ice.

“The music allows me to get there, which is why it’s so important I skate to music I like,” figure skater Alysa Liu said. “I know every beat, I know every lyric. My body feels it.”

Moments like this are what make figure skating so unforgettable. When Alysa Liu successfully landed the triple axel, the crowd erupted, and everyone watching was left in amazement of her skill. That single jump became the defining highlight of the night, leaving a lasting impression on fans and sealed her place in the sport’s history.
