The Wolves and Cougars battled it out on home turf in Grandview’s gym last Friday night, emerging victorious in a dominant performance with a final score of 59-40. The Wolves beat Cherokee Trail in a much closer game earlier in the regular season, coming down to the last few seconds in a final score of 47-46. The two wins over Cherokee Trail this season give Grandview a sweep for the 2025-2026 season over CT.
“I know the players wanted it badly. I’m super excited for our school, and it means a lot to people,” Head coach Ryan Turk said.
With this win, the team is traveling to their next opponent as underdogs to the number 4 seed Arvada West on Tuesday. However, Turk has a strong leadership mentality to lead his team to the next round in the Denver Coliseum.
“Paying attention to every detail and making sure that we are thinking correctly and making the right decisions is our plan. Our guys do a great job with preparation,” Turk said.
