Despite instructions from the principal, teachers are still parking in the lower student lot causing frustration and tardiness for upperclassmen.

On an average day, at least 20 teachers are parking in the student section while there are at least 70 open spots in the upper teacher parking lot.

“It’s bad enough trying to get out of the parking lot as it is,” said junior Sam Campbell. “Teachers make it worse parking in the student section instead of one of their teacher parking lots.”

When teachers park in the student section, it leaves some students spotless. This is causing tardiness for upperclassmen who have earned the right to drive and park in the student lot. Teachers are depriving students from getting to their classes on time by parking in the students spots when they have two other parking lots reserved for them.

Students find it annoying when they are trying to find a parking spot and then see that teachers have already taken them.

“If a teacher comes up to me and says ‘my car got scratched in the student parking lot’ I wouldn’t care,”  said security officer Debbie Romero.

When it comes to leaving the student parking lot at the end of the day, chaos is one word you could use to describe it. The students are starting to get furious with the teachers who are taking the convenient spots. It is causing more of a traffic jam in the student parking lot.

“They are causing me to be late to work after school,” said senior CJ Paris.

At the end of the school day, teachers are leaving work to head home, but students are leaving school and some are heading to their jobs. Some kids start work at 4 o’clock and they only have 30 minutes to get to work after the end of the day. Teachers are taking away the time students need to get out of the parking lot by taking up the spots closest to the school exit/entrance.

Security has talked to the teachers multiple time about parking in the student section. Romero is aware of the troubles it brings for the students and parking lot as a whole at the end of the day.

“If a teacher comes up to me and says ‘my car got scratched in the student parking lot’ I wouldn’t care,”  said security officer Debbie Romero.

Campbell was asked if he could say something to the teachers that are parking in the student lot.

“You suck.”
