A Look into Freaky Friday’s Audience: Q&A

This Thursday night, the students of the theatre department performed their rendition of Freaky Friday. Many parents, students, and siblings came to support these students and this is what they had to say.

Ava Dennis – Supporting Student/Sibling

Q: “What did you think about the play overall?”

A: “It was really good; they’ve come far. When my sisters were here, they weren’t too good but now they’ve figured out what they’re doing.”

Q: “Why did you come see the play?

A: “A bunch of my friends are in it and I wanted to come support them.”

Q:” What was your favorite aspect of the play?”

A: “Probably how they brought in a sixth grader for Fletcher. They don’t normally do that, so it’s cool to see an outside person come in.”

 

Maggie Chapman – Dance Teacher

Q: “What did you think about the play overall?”

A: “I thought it was wonderful. Super entertaining.”

Q:  “Why did you come see the play?”

A: “I have a student from my dance studio that was part of the cast.”

Q:” What was your favorite aspect of the play?”

A: “I really liked all of the music and all of the humor. It was hilarious, [and] it was so well done.”

Faris Kahale – Supporting Freshman Student from Grandview

Q: “What did you think about the play overall?”

A: “I think it was a really great play, I mean there were great singers and it was very entertaining.”

Q:  “Why did you come see the play?”

A: “I don’t know, I thought it would be a great idea to just kinda check it out. I’ve never been to a play before so it’s my first play and it just looked great.”

Q:” What was your favorite aspect of the play?”

A: “I thought it was really cool when they switched back (bodies). It was great I don’t know, there was a lot of great aspects to it.”

Campbell Charles – Supporting Sophomore Student from Grandview

Q: “What did you think about the play overall?”

A: “I thought it was amazing. Honestly, everyone did so good and like everyone stayed in character the entire time and I thought like everyone was in character. Even the background people and the set was amazing too.”

Q:  “Why did you come see the play?”

A: “I get extra credit for choir but also you know I have some friends in it so.”

Q:” What was your favorite aspect of the play?”

A: “I would probably just say the songs and like just the lighting and stuff. It was really cool.”

Heather Albritton – Supporting Parent

Q: “What did you think about the play overall?”

A: “I thought the play was absolutely amazing, I just loved it and the characters and it was just amazing.”

Q: “Why did you come see the play?

Actor, Brian Erickson, singing during the play. Erickson is a 6th grader who was casted for the role of Fletcher.

A:“I came to see it because as a kid I was in choir and theater and I love watching other kids perform. I just like supporting theatre and young kids.”

Q:What was your favorite aspect of the play?”

A:“My favorite aspect was watching the mom and the daughter back and forth and their roles play back and forth like just seeing what was gonna happen.”

Overall, the play was given high regards. If you’re free November 19th or 20th, you definitely should consider seeing this outstanding play.
