Chick-fil-A, better than ever

Chick-fil-A%2C+better+than+ever

It’s bad enough for students that Chick-fil-A is closed on Sunday. Now, Chick-fil-A by Southlands has been closed since August 30th for a temporary remodel on their kitchen and parts of the front counter that impact Grandview students and the customers that walk in and out every day.

This new kitchen will change how fast the food comes out which will make getting in and out of Chick-fil-A faster.

“The benefit for Grandview High School is that students will be able to get in and out on a shorter lunch break,” said Scott Amole, the operator of Chick-fil-A on Chambers and Parker Road.

This means, if you have A, B, or C lunch and are worried about making it back in time for class then this remodel should help you.

“If it’s quicker, I’m all about it,” said junior, Selena Ayala.

Shane Weeks, operator of Chick-fil-A in Southlands, is incorporating about 450 more square feet into his store. This new space will consist of a two door freezer that will prevent cross contamination between the refrigerator and the freezer.

Other than the inside of the store, the outside is being more efficient for the Customers.

Due to an issue with the parking lot, Chick-fil-A will no longer have the parking spots in the front of the store. The Drive Thru lanes will replace the lanes in front of the Chick-fil-A. This will make getting in and out easier and safer for students and the rest of the community.

Another accommodation being made through the remodel is the drive thru hut that will help restaurant employees stay warmer during winter and cooler in the summer. The new drive thru will have built in fans and heaters to either reduce or increase temperatures for employees while taking orders outside. It will also benefits the customers coming into drive thru to be cooled or heated during different seasons.

Hopefully with all these accommodations, Grandview will enjoy the remodel.

“If it’s quicker, I’m all about it,” said junior, Selena Ayala.

Chick-fil-A is planning to reopen November 14th, 2018. It was originally supposed to open middle of October.
