Grandview’s Aaron Harris tells how football has changed him into the person and athlete he is today.

The game is simple. Get the ball into the end zone, all the while rejecting the other team that has the same objective. Yet football means much more to Senior captain, Aaron Harris, and the teammates he plays with.
Aaron Harris grew up playing football, starting his first season at the age of 7. Throughout the years, he encountered many coaches and teammates who helped shape him into the person and player he is today.
“Coach Adams is probably one of the best coaches I have ever had,” said Harris. “The friends that I have, the people I hang out with, respect, time management and other basic stuff like that.”
Playing football for Grandview has left Harris with unforgettable memories and experiences.
“We won by 1 point last year in California,” said Harris. “We beat the team 50 to 49.”
Considering this is Aaron Harris’ last season on the field as a Grandview Wolf, Harris has plans to put football in his future.
“I’m going to UNC to play football in college but I’m not sure if I will play pro,” said Harris.
His grades are also important, for he has to keep a certain GPA to maintain his eligibility for the NCAA.
Playing football for Grandview has left Harris with unforgettable memories and experiences.
This football season, Grandview is fighting their way back to get into a top spot for playoffs. Harris believes they will definitely make it to playoffs, but they have to recover from the tough games at the beginning of the season.
“We pretty much played all of our hard games, because we played 5 playoff teams back to back to back,” said Harris regarding the rough start to the season. “Our conference is a little easier, except Doherty is pretty hard and so is Arapahoe, but I really hope we get to play Creek again and I always like to play Valor, so we will see then”.
To confirm their spot in playoffs, they have to win the next 5 games.
“We watch film a lot, and we will also have the offense run plays that the team we are going to play is going to run so that helps a lot,” said Harris.
The team is much closer this year than before so the chemistry is strong and positive between the boys.
“Early in the season, the lineups change a little bit, but usually they are pretty set,” said Harris.
Harris plays Cornerback, Running Back, and Slot Receiver. With two touchdowns and 139 yards rushing under his belt, the senior Captain is a very influential player on the team.
“Its [football] a pretty big portion of who I am as a person,” said Harris.
The Wolves’ next game is on Thursday, October 12th, at Legacy Stadium, with kickoff at 7pm.
